Financial information drives decision making in an array of different aspects in the business world. In Accounting and Finance for Non-Financial Managers 1182, course participants will earn an understanding of the financial concepts and accounting processes that most businesses use, including the seven steps in the accounting cycle. In exposing these fundamental concepts and processes to non-financial managers, this course serves to arm students with the knowledge to analyze resource allocation, evaluate financial performance and understand the interaction among these pieces of information and how it influences decision making.
Accounting and Finance for Non-Financial Managers 1182 is a one-month course that is divided into the following four units:

- The Liabilities of a Business
- Short-Term Liabilities
- Long-Term Liabilities
Unit 4: Financial Planning
- Overview of Financial Planning
- The Importance of Financial Planning
- The Business Planning Process
By the end of the course, participants will understand financial terminology, basic accounting concepts, the accounting cycle and debits, credits and journals. They will also know how to create and interpret financial statements, comprehend how budgets are built and understand the “big picture” when it comes to a business’ finances.
Accounting and Finance for Non-Financial Managers is one of three courses required to earn a certificate in Entrepreneurial Finance from the University of West Alabama Online’s Continuing Education program. This course costs $195 (less if taken in conjunction with other two certificate course requirements) and is being offered June 5 through 30 and September 5 through 29!
